Paining by anjai Chandrashekar

"I have at last finished my painting incorporating all the 8 MDG's and worked it into the shape of an 8. I work for a number of causes and quite a few of my paintings have been brought out as calendars by UNESCO, UNEP, UNICEF & UNISDR. I do hope that I have been effective in my intended portrayal of the issues of the MDG's...

I have portrayed my world as I would like it to be, and not just as one meeting the Millennium Development Goals. The world as it should be; with greenery, education for all, plentiful food for all, equal rights, world peace and a disease free world where everyone gets adequate healthcare and poverty is non existent. My world seems utopian, but only because the world is not like that right now. Looking back at the painting… I realise, this is what everyone wants, and it can be done. I also realise… these are the MDG’s."
