»» Back to Art: Elementary Category A Perfect World Without Poverty"We started this project with Erin Wilkins, she gave us a lot of information about homelessness and poverty. Erin had some huge puppets; Ms.A suggested the idea of a show with puppets about homelessness and poverty. We also had a debate about poverty and homelessness. Half of us had to prove that poverty was increasing and half of us had to prove that poverty was decreasing. I was on the side that had to prove poverty decreasing. I was very nervous because I don’t like reading something out loud to people. In the debate I learned a lot about the UN’s millennium development goals. It was really cool learning about Homelessness and Poverty. I used pencil crayons for my picture. I used pencil crayons because, they are neat and I can do a fine job with them. I like them because I can color my picture all one way if I want to. I like the colors that I used on my picture because they are al bright colors. The title of my picture is “A Perfect World Without Poverty”. My picture is not only one picture, it is in sections, I drew happy people in one section, people with homes and money in another and other pictures too. I drew pictures where people were happy and had everything they wanted because; the whole project was about a world that had no homelessness and poverty. I came late thought the process. I am still learning about the MDG, and I’m hoping to learn more. I learned a little about poverty and homelessness, I learned that the UN is trying to avoid hunger, poor education, child mortality, etc, etc, etc. I really would like to see the real world that has no poverty and homelessness. The message that I want to give to the world is to reduce homelessness and poverty, and keep the world clean so that people don’t get sick. The next time I see people throwing things on the ground, I will for sure tell them to not POLLUTE . I would donate money to organizations. I would tell people to volunteer and give their clothes that no longer fit them to people who extremely need them. I would tell people to give their extra foods to food bank, so they can give them to poor people."
