Homeless girl walking along street
» Watch the movie

There's No Place Like Home by Sara Baki

I chose to use a film for this project because, this is the best way to express my feelings and point of view on different subjects. The title for the film is "There's No Place Like Home." This piece helps to give an idea of how some people used to live before becoming homeless, and how someone can go from one extreme to another. I've known people who've become homeless and because of that, this project means a lot to me. When filming this video I tried to see how homeless people lived their lives and what they had to do to survive, now that I've seen it, it makes me want to do more to help. The message I want to send through this film would be to try and help those who are on the verge of become homeless, and to support charities and other fundraisers to help those without a home or job. For myself to help out, I may take action and donate to local charities.

The film I made is about a young girl who used to have a very good life, with many friends, attending school, and still living at home. She then becomes homeless and has to learn how to survive on the streets, finding what ever she can to eat, and sleeping basically anywhere. The "colour" parts of the film are before she becomes homeless, and the "black and white" parts are when she is homeless. I used the different colours to show the diversity of the different ways of living."
